2.4 Ton Bentley Bentayga now gets carbon fibre wheels

The Bentley Bentayga is a luxury SUV that weighs 2440 kg. It’s not a supercar, but it will take you to your destination in utmost luxury and at a surprisingly quick pace. Now, Bentley has decided to put the Bentayga on a diet.

The automaker now offers lightweight 22-inch carbon fibre wheels as an option on the Bentayga. These have been developed by the Mulliner division and weigh 6 kg less than the regular 22-inch rims.

According to Bentley, it took 5-years to develop the carbon fibre wheels. They were engineered in collaboration with Italy-based Bucci Composites.

Now, carbon fibre wheels have become fairly common on high-end supercars and hypercars. Ferrari offers them as an option on the SF90 Stradale and the 296 GTB. The Ford GT customers were also offered this lightweight option. Koenigsegg was the first to develop carbon fibre wheels with hollow spokes.
